BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The E&P Ops Measurement Operator 2 assists field personnel in the installation and maintenance of mechanical and electronic measurement equipment and the witnessing of custody transfer meter calibrations and LACT provings. Develops and applies skills in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of natural gas and liquid measurement systems. Provides guidance to the Field and Engineering staff in the implementation of and conformance to Company Measurement Policies. Works under general supervision.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 2 years of related industry experience in measurement
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
- Investigate measurement variances and prepare solutions to prevent further occurrences
- Under general supervision, complete and maintain measurement schematics and measurement reviews
- Under general supervision, install and maintain natural gas measurement equipment to Company standard
- Witness third party calibrations and provings on custody transfer meters and LACTs
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with field personnel, landowners, and purchasers
- Participate in on call rotation
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred
- Practice safe work habits at all times
- Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
- Advanced level computer skills
- Basic understanding of oil and gas industry terminology
- Working knowledge of applicable measurement standards
- Strong mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. (25 kilos) several times a day
- Able to climb and work from 6’ (1.83 m) ladder
- Knowledge of maintenance and installation of mechanical and electronic gas and liquid measurement equipment
- Knowledge of meter tube design and installation
- Knowledge of gas and liquid analysis and sampling procedures
- Team oriented, self motivated, and able to adapt to change
- Needs to exhibit a strong attention to detail on completed work
- Needs to exhibit high expectations for results
- Must be willing to communicate effectively and professionally with BLM, Pipeline personell, fellow team members and supevisors
- Position requires operation of Company vehicles. Incumbent must maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Company policies
