Major Responsibilities

Interns apply general business principles, theories, and concepts to assignments such as, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the company’s public, government affairs and sustainability strategies
  • Monitoring emerging regulatory, legislative or other public policy developments within the oil and natural gas industry at the federal, state, or local levels and identifying potential impact to the company or industry
  • Conducting research and analysis on government policies, political trends, or press coverage that may impact the company
  • Examining emerging trends and best practices in sustainability disclosure, engagement, performance, and initiatives
  • Building fluency on the fundamental drivers and developments in global energy markets to inform medium- and long-term government affairs, sustainability and climate-related strategies
  • Contributing and assisting with political event outreach and coordination
  • Engaging in relationship, coalition, and consensus building across a variety of internal and external stakeholders in a way that advances the company’s values, goals and reputation

 

Qualifications

  • Interest in government relations, lobbying, law, public policy, sustainability, environmental, climate or related fields
  • Ability to work collaboratively and constructively to promote the goals and objectives of the company
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to navigate complex issues
  • Willingness to travel for work related conferences and meetings

 

 

Other Learning Opportunities

Interns will receive diversified learning opportunities through on-the-job assignments, utilizing the technical skills acquired in college.  This internship will assist in technical and professional development.

  • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen
  • Must provide own transportation daily from corporate housing to work location
