BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Energy Marketing Professional works independly with management guidance this position assists in negotiating highly complex marketing agreements such as sales, processing, gathering, transportation, purchasing, and related services. Gathers, analyzes, and interprets competitor and market analysis from which to make sound sales decisions, and has a thorough understanding of the industry value drivers. Assists in ensuring that all available production is marketed to achieve optimal flow assurance and value.

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering

 

EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience in Energy Marketing

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate timely well connections to ensure the sale of Devon equity production and third party purchases
  • Analyze various marketing and supply related agreements (sales, transportation, gathering, purchase and processing) to ensure compliance and identify value added opportunities
  • Maintain effective communications with various internal departments such as the Asset teams, Facilities, Infrastructure, Production, Planning and Accounting
  • Analyze and interpret market intelligence
  • Develop an extensive working knowledge of midstream facilities
  • Actively participate on E&P area teams
  • Assist in the coordination of sales activities with sales reps, scheduling, contract administration and other departments
  • Evaluate regional markets, including supply/demand fundamentals, competitor assessments, and logistical alternatives
  • Evaluate customer performance, credit and reliability to assist in customer allocations, add value and reduce exposure
  • Develop, cultivate and manage relationships with external customers and service providers
  • Analyze Devon’s marketing portfolio, including portfolio mark to market, market summaries, supply demand analysis, production and transportation analysis
  • Examine industry publications, subscriptions and online reporting services for relevant market intelligence (e.g. geopolitical issues, planned or unplanned refinery or petrochemical outages, logistics – new infrastructure, shipping or pipelines, arbitrage)

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work closely within highly functional teams in a fast paced environment
  • Practice safe work habits at all times

  • Intermediate level computer skills
  • Able to travel as required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Industry contacts and infrastructure knowledge a plus
  • Possess a desire to read and interpret industry literature and publications
