The Revenue Accountant conducts and documents moderately complex revenue accounting projects under general supervision. Analyzes and records accounting transactions related to Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR) royalty reporting and compliance. Collaborates with Federal and Indian compliance to team to complete data mining, compliance reviews, royalty reporting, and other regulatory responsibilities.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MIS, or other related Business field

Requires a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience in accounting; oil and gas industry experience preferred

• Continue to develop an understanding of the principles, theories and concepts of accounting and apply them to assignments such as preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation and analysis of financial data
• Develop and apply an understanding of financial and accounting analysis and problem solving
• Develop an understanding of the control environment and comply with control procedures
• Begin developing and promoting sound recommendation that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
• Review filings to ensure completeness
• Ensure compliance within the government regulatory bodies
• Respond to internal and external audit queries

• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Royalty reporting experience with ONRR preferred
• SAP/PRA experience preferred
• Practice safe work habits at all times

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong working knowledge of computer based accounting and invoicing systems
• Able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks and manage deadlines

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
