BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Production Accountant conducts and documents routine production accounting projects under immediate supervision. Begins to analyze and record accounting transactions related to operated production and reports volumetric data to regulatory agencies. Collaborates with other team members, interacts with internal and external stakeholders, including Operations and Field personnel and regulatory entities. Responds to data requests, prepares reconciliations, maintains accurate records and other regulatory responsibilities.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related field
EXPERIENCE
Experience with oil and gas industry and/or interaction with business decision makers is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• With direct oversight from mentor and/or supervisor, develop an understanding of the principles, theories, and concepts of production accounting and how to apply them to assignments such as master data set-ups, volume allocations, reconciliations and reporting
• Develop and apply an understanding of financial and operations accounting analysis and problem solving
• Begin developing and promoting sound recommendations that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
• Identifies routine problems of limited scope and identifies solutions based on training and knowledge of functional practice and procedures; frequently uses more experienced peers for guidance
• Review filings for completeness and ensure compliance within the government regulatory bodies
• Other duties as assigned
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Basic Microsoft 365 skills

• Able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks and manage deadlines
• Strong analytical and evaluation skills
• Demonstrates strong communication skills
• Develops basic knowledge of Oil and Gas industry accumen
