BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY  The Category Management Professional, under general supervision, performs moderately complex tasks relating to the management of an assigned category or categories within the company’s Category Management function. Provides support in managing specific groupings of goods & services, including identifying leveraged sourcing opportunities, analyzing market intelligence, contract management, supplier relationship and performance management. The role requires a blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and strategic thinking to ensure the efficient and cost-effective procurement of PVF materials.

 

EDUCATION  Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or in other applicable field; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

 

EXPERIENCE  Requires a minimum of 3 years of supply chain or other related experience; industry experience preferred

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the strategic and operational aspects of the PVF (Pipe, Valves, and Fittings) category.
  • Collaborate with other Supply Chain functions, including Procurement Admin and Ops Procurement, and Market Intelligence in developing and executing a comprehensive category strategy, sourcing events and contract compliance
  • Gather, provide and interpret market intelligence information to business units
  • Assist in managing demand planning in collaboration with business units
  • Participate in cross functional teams in executing sourcing events
  • Collect and monitor contract and supplier performance data through reports, internal customer surveys, and through ad hoc feedback from relevant stakeholders
  • Assist in developing and monitoring continuous business improvement process measures with suppliers to improve profitability
  • Assist in developing and monitoring strategies for maximizing supplier product line integration into the business to increase efficiency and value
  • Act as business liaison between suppliers and company business units
  • Support corporate budget and cash management process through periodic market pricing updates and forecasts

  • Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred
