The operator will be responsible for all aspects of the trade life cycle for 100,000 barrels a day of FOB crude export transactions at a Corpus Christi terminal.  Candidate must ideally have 7+ years’ experience in marine and terminal operations as well as familiarity with domestic US crude supply management and logistics.  The ability to form strong relationships with both internal job functions and external counterparts is essential while the ability to bring existing relationships would be a plus.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of crude oil from Devon with internal pipeline schedulers into Devon terminals.
  • Form and maintain relationships with external terminal operations teams to ensure efficient and safe facility operations and flexibility.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Devon upstream portfolio and midstream facilities.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with external counterparties and service providers such as inspectors & agents.
  • Coordinate and manage marine lifting schedule with terminal, marketers, and pipe schedulers.
  • Handle process of vessel & sub nomination and acceptance
  • Create FOB sales contracts and manage process of amendments with internal and external groups through to execution.
  • Act in the best interest of Devon to protect them from unnecessary operational or functional risk.
  • Proactively assess and execute optionality around contractual flexibility, market pricing and lifting program.
  • Prepare demurrage packets and coordinate claims with external service provider.
  • Calculate, verify, and actualize all costs associated with cargo movements and terminal expenses.
  • Prepare all required customs and export documents.
  • Manage, validate and report internally all terminal inventory positions with associated losses and gains.
  • Review validate and distribute cargo movement documentation such as Bill of Ladings, COAs etc.,
  • Manage invoicing process including verifying pricing, volume, and payments dates with counterparts.
  • Proactively manage all issues arising from production changes and marine movements.
  • Assist accounting and other support functions in accurate reporting during and post trade cycle.
  • At all times maintain close relationships and open communications with marine marketer and wider marketing and scheduling team.  
  • If specified, Operator must ensure any required Credit support is received in the specified manner and in a timely basis
  • At times as required provide cover for domestic pipeline scheduling

 

Job Specifications

 

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of seven years’ experience in the terminal scheduling and marine operations of liquid hydrocarbons.   Domestic pipeline scheduling desirable.
