Job Overview

Internships provide opportunities to learn and apply land management skills through a combination of team and individual project assignments in both a professional office environment and in field settings. A Devon internship will provide experience in various land disciplines depending on candidate experience and project availability.

 

Major Responsibilities

Interns apply general energy management principles and knowledge to assignments such as, but not limited to:

  • Title research utilizing courthouse records, online resources, and internal records
  • Evaluating and securing rights for surface and subsurface use
  • Preparing and analyzing leases and other agreements related to development of energy sources
  • Monitoring commission activity (OCC, TXRRC) and regulatory filings
  • Reviewing title opinions and curative documents
  • Calculating working and net revenue interests
  • Proposing operations such as workovers and recompletions to other interest owners
  • Utilizing GIS and internal and external data sources for data quality initiatives

Typical duties include providing assistance on projects assigned by the land staff, as needed.

On-the-job assignments provide diversified, real life learning opportunities that build upon the foundational skills acquired in college. This internship will increase technical land and energy knowledge through practical application and exposure to industry professionals across the value chain.

Housing Qualifications

• Full time student

• Pursuing degree in Energy Management, Business, Communications, or other related disciplines

• Graduation Year: December 2026 through May 2027

 

Conditions of Employment

• Successfully complete a background check and drug screen

• Must provide own transportation daily from corporate housing to work location

• Completion of Federal Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9)
