BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY

This position, under limited supervision, has land administration and support responsibilities including analyzing oil and gas leases and related contracts and maintaining land data in internal systems in accordance with policies and controls. 

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Energy Management, or Accounting

 

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Review, analyze, and set up new leases and contracts to ensure proper reporting and maintenance
  • Review and update records affected by well completions or well status changes
  • Analyze correspondence, title change documents, and title opinions and coordinate with land and division order departments on any interest changes in leases and wells
  • Assist in the review of monthly lease obligations and expirations
  • Maintain records containing original leases, contracts, documents, maps, receipts, and related correspondence
  • Prepare releases of lease and other agreements and contracts
  • Utilize and assist in development of innovative tools to improve data quality and create efficiencies
  • May act as mentor to less senior employees, providing direction, development, and guidance

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrate commitment to Devon values
  • Oil and gas industry experience including experience entering and maintaining data in a land data management system
  • Working knowledge of principles and fundamentals of Land
  • Advanced level computer and technology skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, reliable, flexible and adaptive to change
  • Self-motivated and exhibit strong individual skills, as well as effective team skills in a busy work environment
  • Experience with SAP or Quorum
