BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
Individual performs accounting functions within Financial Accounting. Individual works with general supervision and is responsible for analyzing and recording accounting transactions related to Acquisitions, Divestitures and Mergers in addition to Oil & Gas Expense Accounting Tasks. Duties may include preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, coordinating Acquisition, Divestiture & Merger transactions, and Financial Reports as well as the analysis of Revenue, Capital and LOE actuals and accruals. The ability to communicate clearly with internal and external parties and maintaining a focus on continuous improvement are critical to continued success. Individuals also need to demonstrate a strong ability to complete activities, collaborate with other team members, influence others to achieve desired results, and the ability to solve complex problems.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or other related Business field
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 1-3+ years of industry accounting experience preferred
Strong analytical skills
SAP and Reporting experience a plus
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under general supervision applies the principles, theories and concepts of accounting to assignments such as preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation and analysis of financial data at a higher level of proficiency and productivity.
- Analysis of Capital, LOE and Revenue data on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and analyze Financial Reports.
- Ability to interpret Agreements and apply COPAS procedures to billing partners.
- Demonstrates initiative in seeking additional responsibility and gaining knowledge beyond core responsibilities, e.g. striving to understand the “big picture”.
- Serve as a resource to all areas within the Finance, Tax & Accounting organizations, overseeing complex projects, providing data collection and analysis, and interpreting contractual agreements.
- Focuses a significant portion of efforts on analysis and problem solving.
- May assist in developing and promoting sound recommendations that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, and Teams
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate (strong verbal and written skills)
