BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The GIS Professional works closely with the GIS Staff and other business teams to provide high level GIS support across the company’s enterprise GIS environment.  Involved in managing geospatial data, performing spatial analysis, and utilizing GIS technology to support business needs.  This position will be supporting the Land, Exploration, and A&D groups.
 
EDUCATION
  •  Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, or related discipline.  Experience may be substituted for a degree.

EXPERIENCE
  •  Requires 3+ years of experience creating, managing, displaying, and analyzing geospatial data

JOB RESPONSIBILITES
  •  Work with cross functional business teams to create high quality maps and data extracts• 
  •  Create and update geospatial datasets representing leases, contracts, and other company assets in an SDE geodatabase.
  •  Identify geospatial processes where efficiencies can be gained through streamlining an automation
  •  Ensure supported teams are aware of and trained in self-service GIS tools
  •  Communicate technical expertise to management and non-GIS personnel.
  •  Serve as an ambassador for spatial awareness and best practices throughout the enterprise.
     
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  •  Proven work experience supporting Land and related teams within the oil & gas industry
  •  Proven work experience working with Esri software.  Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, GeoCortex Essentials, and FME a plus.
  •  Basic understanding of scripting and querying languages such as SQL and Python
  •  Strong comprehension of coordinate systems, projections, and datums, including the ability to convert and transform data.
