BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Energy Ventures Financial Analyst is a key member of the Energy Ventures team. This team develops ideas and evaluates projects related to new, low-carbon energy production. The team also sponsors and manages Devon’s Venture Capital investments. 
The position supports investment decisions in prospective projects. They will work with Devon’s technical and business departments to provide key financial advice, including valuations, economic analyses, and models. They engage with industry experts to understand new business models and deployment opportunities. 
 
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or other related Business field
 
EXPERIENCE
• Requires Energy Finance experience. Or, experience in a similar role performing commercial evaluation on new, energy projects or venture capital investments
• Financial modeling experience required 
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Perform discounted cash flow analysis for investment opportunities
• Research and analyze industry, sector and company-specific financial results
• Analyze and forecast Supply, Demand and Trade for products/industries
• Cost modeling for various industrial processes
• Communicate and coordinate with other internal departments (e.g., Geosciences, Business Development, Marketing, Tax, Strategic Planning)
• Screen possible acquisition transactions by preparing and evaluating pro forma financial information and related capital market activity 
• Present oral and written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations and entire industries to Devon Senior leaders 
• Perform ad hoc analysis to support leadership 
• A hybrid (virtual and in-person) work schedule is available

• They will continually explore the possibilities with new business models and technologies.  
• Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills; advanced level computer skills.
• Skill in collecting and analyzing complex processes and drawing logical conclusions
• Thrives working on a small, fast-moving team
