BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY  
The Electrical Engineer provides design, implementation, and management of electrical systems to include power lines, substation management, power quality and electrical forecasting.  Works with a diverse team including engineers, field operations and EHS staff to ensure the safe and efficient design and operation of Devon-owned power infrastructure in the Delaware Basin.
 
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
 
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an electrical engineer with a preference for power infrastructure engineering. 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage multiple electrical projects and associated budgets, schedules, and resources
• Work with a team in the design of multiple distribution projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, including complete design packages for both overhead and underground projects.
• Forecast electrical demand for area-specific and field-wide planning
• Interact with multiple Utility companies to ensure power needs are met for future loads 
• Program SEL relays and reclosers using acSELerator software preferred
• Utilize electrical power system models to predict electrical needs and troubleshoot potential issues 
• Design and monitor equipment such as CAP banks, regulators, and reclosers to improve utility infrastructure power quality
• Design and manage the potential construction of electrical substations  
• Create detailed electrical drawings for electrical systems
• Visit field locations to oversee and assist in electrical projects 
• Investigate electrical system field failures and root causes and report findings to operations
• Provide engineering support on existing infrastructure and facilities 
• Design and develop detailed cost estimates and construction timing for electrical projects

• In depth knowledge and experience in multiple engineering initiatives
• Strong project leadership skills
• Ability to work within stringent deadlines
• Able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with diverse personalities
• Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills 
• Familiar with API 500, NEC Code and associated electrical codes
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Electrical Utility experience preferred
• Practice safe work habits at all times
• Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of analyzing and creatively solving problems. 
• Able to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project related goals
• Efficient time management and the ability to concurrently handle multiple projects 
• Strong computer skills
