• Responsibility for analysis, economic research and modeling to ensure accurate data is provided for executive management reports. Create and document multifaceted corporate finance and financial analysis projects (capital markets activity, corporate modeling, etc)
• This position requires broad-based skill sets and knowledge of finance and accounting, combined with the ability to accurately analyze opportunities, develop and propose thoughtful solutions with the team, and implement of executive management decisions, all in a fast-paced environment 
• The work products from this group are relied upon by Devon’s Executive Committee and the Board of Directors and as such, this individual is expected to perform at a very high level with a strong work ethic, accountability and high level of attention to detail while being able to manage tight deadlines and deliverables
• This individual is expected to have the ability to communicate complex concepts in an effective manner to other leaders up to the Executive level, including the CFO, and functional teams.


• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or other related Business field 
• Master's degree in Business/Finance, and/or Professional Finance (CFA) or Accounting certification (CPA) preferred


• A minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in finance required (5-8 years for Senior level); oil & gas experience preferred
• Financial modeling experience required (minimum 2 years for Senior level), including a high level of Microsoft Excel proficiency; Financial statement analysis experience (minimum of 2 years) preferred; Experience with Essbase and other FP&A tools is desirable
• Understanding of corporate finance concepts is highly desired


• Research and analyze industry, sector and company-specific financial results for peer benchmarking
• Update Devon’s corporate model periodically and as needed
• Communicate and coordinate with other internal departments (e.g., Accounting, Business Development, Marketing, Investor Relations, Strategic Planning) to provide consistent data to internal and external stakeholders 
• Support analysis of capital markets alternatives, interest rate derivatives, and other financing strategies 
• Screen possible E&P acquisition transactions by preparing and evaluating pro forma financial information and related capital market activity 
• Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions
• Present oral and written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations and entire industries; Senior Analyst would have occastional interactions with Devon Senior leaders and must have ability to communicate complex concepts at a high level in an effective manner 
• Perform ad hoc analysis to support senior executives, as well as the finance and treasury team
• Senior Analyst would help develop and mentor less senior employees
• Assemble spreadsheets, charts and graphs
