This position will focus on leading and facilitating Continuous Improvement (CI) throughout the organization by applying Lean methodologies.  This strategic position relies on one’s CI skills and ability to collaborate with all levels to cultivate and further our culture of continuous improvement.  The focus will be on leading change through Policy Deployment and strategic problem-solving while building sustainable CI capabilities throughout Devon.    
 
Essential Functions:  
• Be a strategic resource for Leadership in the development and execution of business plans and objectives. 
• Works with stakeholders to ensure strategic efforts and daily management are aligned and support business objectives.   
• Partner with key stakeholders to develop and apply CI tools and methodologies to achieve financial objectives and improve operational KPIs.   
• Lead training on Lean concepts and tools in both formalized training sessions and ad-hoc. 
• Lead by example and support stakeholders and SME’s during training and application of problem-solving methods.   
• Actively participate, lead, and support others during improvement projects and problem solving. 
• Analyze and understand the value stream to recognize opportunities, risk, and problems then pursue countermeasures.   
• Perform failure analysis on field failures and drive corrective action. 
• This position is highly autonomous and is required to adapt to changing needs of the business.  
• Must have a wide span and be able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
• Identify and mentor future Lean talent to support professional advancement.   
  
Other Requirements
• Engineering or advanced STEM degree. 
• Experience in oil and natural gas industry. 
• Substantial experience directly managing a significant portion of an operation’s value stream as a Lean practitioner within a Lean management system, prefer P&L experience. 
• Must have led a Lean transformation as a direct member of the operation’s leadership team. 
• Prefer certifications in Lean and/or other American Society of Quality (ASQ).  Certifications such as Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE).   
• Must be an SME on problem-solving methodologies with experience launching and leading teams.  
• Proven successful application of Quality and Reliability tools: Policy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, Practical Problem Solving, Standard Work, Visual Daily Management, FMEA, FRACAS,  
• Proficient at advanced data analysis and statistical methods 
• Ability to simplify complex challenges, strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, project management, and conflict resolution skills.  
• Kaizen and a growth mindset is a critical success factor, including serving and supporting others’ growth and achievement.  
• Strong interpersonal skills with a desire and ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve integrated goals.  
• Willing and able to travel to various Devon locations across multiple states.
