BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Compressor Specialist optimizes Devon compression throughout the field (tracking production data to determine efficiency of units - run times, load, sizing, etc.). The Compressor Specialist will work with Production Foremen, Tech Services Foremen, Engineers, construction team, and vendors to ensure proper compression is in place for the volumes associated with each well pad. Prepares, maintains, and submits reports and records of daily, weekly, and monthly compressor operational data, maintenance, and cost information. Oversee installation of new and replacement compression equipment and conduct operational readiness review prior to start up.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience related to maintenance and/or operations of compression equipment
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and report on daily run times of compressors (primarily gaslift and VRU compressors)
- Troubleshoot problems and oversee contractors installing and maintaining compression equipment on Devon locations
- Works as team member to ensure 24 hr. a day equipment availability, including unscheduled after hours call outs
- Train newly hired and/or less experienced operators regarding compression equipment
- Provide recommendations to production foreman, engineers, and vendors on ways to increase run time through optimization of seals, lube oils, weather protection, and upstream processing equipment.
- Maintain compliance, in conjunction and coordination with the Foremen and EHS Dept. for all regulatory, environmental, and safety issues
- Schedule and facilitate vendor reliability, KPI meetings
- Review contracts with Supply Chain to ensure consistent terms and conditions
- Establish and maintain mechanisms and processes to track inventory and location of all compression equipment
- Work under general supervision and perform complex assignments such as maintaining files/records, performing calculations, and gathering/tabulating data
- Apply an understanding of terminology, applications, and standard procedures for performing the engineering technician job function
- Capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and various equipment
- Supports and maintain all company policies

- Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred
- Demonstrate commitment to Devon Values
- Intermediate computer skills to include MSOffice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), various software. SAP a plus.
- Strong math and science skills
- Self-motivated, constant improvement mindset, and strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with drilling/facilities/production processes and terminology
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
- Capable of working effectively and willingly within a team environment
- Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving mechanical problems
- Travels and works extended hours and/or on short notice
- Must be able to work schedule that supports business needs including rotations and nights
- Position requires operation of Company vehicles. Incumbent must maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Company policies
