The One Call Operator, working under general supervision, is responsible for driving one call line identification equipment calibration and maintaining documentation certification. The role responds to inquires and requests for information on underground utilities, maintains accurate records, and responds to emergency situations. The role drives identification of all underground facilities for One Call notifications, installs appropriate identification on company owned lines, and notifies lease operators of planned boring and digging activities. The role review one calls recording in a centralized system and one call data provided for reports on boring and digging activities to government agencies, develops, and implements SOPS, and makes recommendations for optimization.

 

Job Description:
• Drives calibration of one call line identification equipment to ensure reliable detection of underground utilities and maintains documentation certification, including dates, equipment used, calibration procedures followed, and adjustments made. 

• Responds to inquires and requests for information regarding underground utilities from various stakeholders, maintains accurate records of requests, responses, and follow-up actions, and responds to emergency situations related to excavation activities, following established protocols.
• Drives identification of all underground facilities for One Call notifications based on thorough reviews to prevent accidental damage or disruption, installs appropriate identification on company owned lines within specified timeframe through one call process, and notifies lease operators of planned boring and digging activities near flowlines and pipelines to minimize risk of damage and ensure safety of property. 
• Monitors digging and boring around lines (line crossing inspections) including on-site inspections to monitor work progress and verify adherence to safety protocols to prevent damage to underground utilities and ensures compliance with safety regulations. 

• Maintains regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Operations Foreman, Superintendents, and Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Reviews recording of one calls in a centralized system that facilitates timely access across divisions, ensuring coordination and visibility among relevant stakeholders and reviews one call data for reports on boring and digging activities to governmental agencies.
• Maintains all company policies and Devon issued equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment.

• Works under supervision to assist in moderately complex oversight tasks related to calibration, locating and marking underground utilities accurately through utilization of GIS and other mapping tools ,developing and implementing SOPs, and making recommendations for optimization.

 

Education:
• High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education and/or commensurate work experience is required.

 

Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Line Identification and Inspection, Equipment Calibration or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.

• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Certifications (preferred)

• Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) (preferred)
