Basic Accountability
Successful individuals in this position will have a strong background in Radio Frequency (RF) operations, troubleshooting and design while supporting the company’s network operations in remote environments.  They will need to communicate effectively with others and understanding the needs of Devon’s field automation & measurement teams in order to provide solutions that meet the requirements of a growing environment where top tier communications are essential. 
This position will have a great deal of autonomy working with little direct supervision. Candidates should be able to work as part of a remote team where knowledge is gained and shared with others through online collaboration tools.
High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years RF experience with theory and design including Point-to-Point and Point-multipoint systems in various frequencies.
  • Minimum of 2 years basic networking (Layer 2 & Layer 3) with a fundamental understanding of IP subnetting
  • Experience with Cambium, Xetawave, Freewave, Moxa serial and cell modem communications.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems such as PLCs, HMI, RTU and working with I&E technicians.
  • Basic knowledge of AC power, DC battery and solar power operations.
  • SolarWinds Orion / SNMP Configurations, Visio software knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Cygnet, Wonderware, XSPOC software applications is a plus.
  • Oil and Gas experience and/or automation systems background is a plus

Job Responsibilites

  • Will use Cambium LINKplanner software to perform path studies and site surveys.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot & resolve RF & IP networking communications failures in localized environments. 
  • Deploy and troubleshoot failures of outdoor WIFI platforms.
  • Will act as project manager for communication tower builds, their continued operation and maintenance in coordination with other third-party vendors.
  • Will dispatch third party vendors to install and repair communications platforms and ensure that work is done satisfactorily. 
  • Will maintain and enhance infrastructure field communications operations in accordance with needs of local customer requirements.
